One of our newest creations from the kitchen at Sandlake Country Inn is Diane’s version of Strawberries with Balsamic Reduction Sauce. It’s that time of year when berries are ripe and plentiful. Sometimes it’s difficult to figure out how to present something simple with a different twist.
This balsamic reduction sauce is perfect for all berries and you could even drizzle it over some soft cheeses. Have fun pairing it with some of your favorite savory foods as well as fruits.
Strawberries with Balsamic Reduction
This recipe for strawberries with balsamic reduction is aquick and easy way to create a special sauce to top summer berries. Sweet and tangy puts a little kick into the ordinary!

- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- Strawberries, hulled & sliced
- whipped cream
- In a pan, stir together balsamic vinegar and sugar. On medium heat, bring to a boil. Turn heat down to medium and simmer for approx. 8 minutes or until mixture thickens and is able to coat a spoon. Cool mixture 10-15 minutes.
- Drizzle the reduction sauce over strawberries. Top with dollop of whipped cream
- Store leftover reduction sauce in a microwave safe bowl. The sauce will harden, so if it's in a microwave safe bowl, it's quick and easy to heat up and soften.
